Testimonials

Just a brief note to say how delighted I am with the Melanie (9.6 sqm) Log Cabin I bought from you. Your service and price were superb and Greg and Craig came at 9am on Tuesday and worked right through until 8pm to build it.

They did an excellent job and did not stop all day. Greg advised that I should paint the door and windows a different colour as otherwise the green painted log cabin would be ‘lost’ in the garden and I took their advice. I used two different colours of Butinox No. 3 and the result is absolutely incredible. Many thanks once again. One hugely satisfied customer.

The delivery lorry arrived about eleven o’clock and the driver duly unloaded two very large packages. At eleven thirty my neighbour and I began to investigate these well protected packages.

Just after three o’clock that afternoon, two self satisfied men were enjoying a well deserved beverage whilst admiring the 4.5 by 3.5 meter cabin which was now completed up to roof purling level.

The construction of the cabin was so logical and easy, just like assembling ‘Lego blocks’ only heavier.

We absolutely love our Summer House – we can seat 16 people inside it, it stays warm long after the sun has gone down and it is particularly special as we run a B&B, so we can escape into it, invite all our friends to parties in it and now, we have installed electricity so can have lighting, heat and music as and when needed. It also provides a really big area to store all our garden furniture during the winter months.

We would absolutely recommend you to anyone considering buying one. Many thanks.

FAQS: Garden Summer Houses

What size summer house can I install without planning permission?

In most cases, you won’t require planning permission if your summer house is under 2.5m in height and located more than 2 metres from your boundary. If it’s closer than 2m to a boundary, it still must stay below 2.5m in height. For apex roofs further from the boundary, you can go up to 4m.

Before placing an order, it's important to familiarise yourself with any planning permissions or building regulations that may apply in your area. Rules can vary by council and country (especially in Scotland), so it’s always a good idea to double-check with your local authority before ordering.

Do your summer houses come pre-treated?

Our wooden summer houses are made from durable, slow-grown Nordic spruce and include pressure-treated foundation beams as standard. For added protection against moisture and insect infestation, we offer dip treatment in clear, grey, or brown. This acts as a first line of defence and helps maintain the building’s natural beauty.

Even with dip treatment, we recommend applying a weatherproof exterior stain after installation for long-term durability.

How long will my summer house last?

With proper care, your summer house can last a lifetime. We recommend reapplying timber treatment every 3–4 years and keeping the structure well-ventilated and off the ground using a solid base. It's a great place to relax, store garden tools, or escape the chill with a cup of tea for years to come!

What’s the best foundation for a summer house?

That depends on your property layout, outdoor space, and building type.

- Concrete slabs are ideal for larger summer houses or year-round use.

- Paving slabs suit small summer houses and offer easy installation.

- Timber decking provides good airflow and a more decorative look, especially for cabins with verandas.

All bases should be firm, level, and slightly raised to avoid water pooling. If in doubt, ask our team—we’re happy to advise based on your site conditions.

How are summer houses delivered?

Your building will be delivered flat-packed on pallets via a hiab-equipped truck for easy kerbside offloading. All parts are individually labeled and securely wrapped to protect them during transit. We’ll notify you once your order has been dispatched and provide clear guidance on what to expect on the day of delivery.

Whether it’s a compact wooden summerhouse or a spacious garden building with a veranda and double doors, your order will arrive securely wrapped and ready for DIY assembly or professional installation.

Can you build the summer house for me?

Yes, we offer optional construction services in most parts of the UK. In many cases, we can even arrange for your summer house to be built on the same day it’s delivered. Just let us know if you'd like to include professional assembly when placing your order.

How easy is it to build one myself?

Most of our summer houses are designed with tongue-and-groove joints, making them suitable for DIY assembly with basic tools (drill, hammer, measuring tape). We recommend two people for construction and provide detailed instructions, videos, and after-sales support if needed.

Even with limited DIY experience, many customers find it a satisfying project that transforms their garden space into a cozy retreat.

What’s included in the price?

Each summer house shed includes:

- The full timber structure (walls, roof, floor)

- Doors, windows, locks, handles, and fixings

- A 5-year structural warranty
