Bars

Why settle for a drinks table on the patio when you can have your own bar at the bottom of the garden? Palmako’s wooden garden bars give you a permanent place to keep the drinks cold, pull up a stool and entertain guests without having to set everything up again each time.

There is plenty of choice in how far you want to take it. Keep things simple with a compact open bar beside the patio or pool, choose a traditional hatch-style design with a sheltered serving area or go bigger with an enclosed garden bar that gives you room for storage, equipment and seating.

Palmako uses Nordic spruce and precision-made timber construction to create substantial garden buildings designed for long-term outdoor use. Depending on the design, you will find proper serving counters, lockable doors, opening hatches and covered areas that can be set up as your own.

Explore the range and find the garden bar that suits your space.

Testimonials

Just a brief note to say how delighted I am with the Melanie (9.6 sqm) Log Cabin I bought from you. Your service and price were superb and Greg and Craig came at 9am on Tuesday and worked right through until 8pm to build it.

They did an excellent job and did not stop all day. Greg advised that I should paint the door and windows a different colour as otherwise the green painted log cabin would be ‘lost’ in the garden and I took their advice. I used two different colours of Butinox No. 3 and the result is absolutely incredible. Many thanks once again. One hugely satisfied customer.

The delivery lorry arrived about eleven o’clock and the driver duly unloaded two very large packages. At eleven thirty my neighbour and I began to investigate these well protected packages.

Just after three o’clock that afternoon, two self satisfied men were enjoying a well deserved beverage whilst admiring the 4.5 by 3.5 meter cabin which was now completed up to roof purling level.

The construction of the cabin was so logical and easy, just like assembling ‘Lego blocks’ only heavier.

We absolutely love our Summer House – we can seat 16 people inside it, it stays warm long after the sun has gone down and it is particularly special as we run a B&B, so we can escape into it, invite all our friends to parties in it and now, we have installed electricity so can have lighting, heat and music as and when needed. It also provides a really big area to store all our garden furniture during the winter months.

We would absolutely recommend you to anyone considering buying one. Many thanks.

Wooden Garden Bars - Frequently Asked Questions

What can I use a Palmako wooden garden bar for?

Palmako’s wooden garden bars can be set up as anything from a simple drinks station to a fully equipped garden pub or outdoor entertaining area. Depending on the size and layout, you could add bar stools, shelving, a drinks fridge, glassware storage or food-preparation space, while larger enclosed designs give you more room for seating and equipment.

The more open designs also work particularly well beside a patio, barbecue or swimming pool, where the serving counter can become part of a wider outdoor dining and entertaining area.

How do I choose the right garden bar for my space?

Start by considering how much room you have and how you want to use your garden bar. A compact, purpose-built garden bar can work well in a smaller back garden or beside a patio or pool, while a larger design gives you more room for seating, storage and equipment.

Think about what you would like to add inside too. If you are planning a complete home bar with a drinks fridge, shelving or even a pool table, check the internal dimensions before ordering to make sure there is enough space. For smaller gatherings, an open serving bar can be a better fit and keeps the layout sociable without taking over the garden.

Palmako offers different sizes and configurations, making it easier to choose a garden bar that matches both your available space and how you plan to entertain.

Can I use a Palmako garden bar all year-round?

Yes, with the right care and preparation, a Palmako garden bar can be enjoyed throughout the year. Adding lighting, seating and heating can help create a comfortable outdoor space for entertaining, relaxation and spending time in your garden across the seasons.

Can I build my own garden bar?

Yes. Palmako garden bars are designed for DIY assembly, with precision-cut timber components and an interlocking construction system that helps the pieces fit together securely. Detailed assembly instructions are provided to guide you through the build.

If you would rather leave the construction to an experienced team, Palmako also offers professional installation for an additional cost.

How do I protect my Palmako wooden garden bar?

Palmako garden bars are made from Nordic spruce and can be finished to suit the look of your garden. If you choose an untreated model, applying a suitable exterior wood treatment will help protect the timber from moisture and changing weather conditions while allowing you to choose your preferred colour or finish.

Keeping the protective finish in good condition over time will help preserve the timber and keep your garden bar looking its best for years to come.

Can a Palmako garden bar become my own garden pub?

Yes. With seating, fairy lights, and personal touches, Palmako’s options can create the perfect garden bar and turn it into your own garden pub-style retreat. It provides a dedicated place for drinks, gatherings and relaxing without leaving your home.

Do I need planning permission for a wooden garden bar?

Many garden buildings fall under permitted development rules, but this depends on factors such as size, height, location and intended use. It is recommended to check with your local planning authority before installing your garden bar.
