Testimonials

Just a brief note to say how delighted I am with the Melanie (9.6 sqm) Log Cabin I bought from you. Your service and price were superb and Greg and Craig came at 9am on Tuesday and worked right through until 8pm to build it.

They did an excellent job and did not stop all day. Greg advised that I should paint the door and windows a different colour as otherwise the green painted log cabin would be ‘lost’ in the garden and I took their advice. I used two different colours of Butinox No. 3 and the result is absolutely incredible. Many thanks once again. One hugely satisfied customer.

The delivery lorry arrived about eleven o’clock and the driver duly unloaded two very large packages. At eleven thirty my neighbour and I began to investigate these well protected packages.

Just after three o’clock that afternoon, two self satisfied men were enjoying a well deserved beverage whilst admiring the 4.5 by 3.5 meter cabin which was now completed up to roof purling level.

The construction of the cabin was so logical and easy, just like assembling ‘Lego blocks’ only heavier.

We absolutely love our Summer House – we can seat 16 people inside it, it stays warm long after the sun has gone down and it is particularly special as we run a B&B, so we can escape into it, invite all our friends to parties in it and now, we have installed electricity so can have lighting, heat and music as and when needed. It also provides a really big area to store all our garden furniture during the winter months.

We would absolutely recommend you to anyone considering buying one. Many thanks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the delivery times and costs?

Due to high demand, most delivery times are currently around 6 weeks. However, items in our Express Delivery range can be delivered within 2–3 weeks, subject to confirmation when placing your order.
Delivery is free for most of the UK. A surcharge of £150 applies for standard and express deliveries to remote postcodes, including AB, GY, HS, IM, IV, JE, KW, PL, TR, TQ, and ZE.

What makes a log cabin gazebo a good investment?

A gazebo log cabin is a multifunctional indoor and outdoor space. The enclosed cabin can be used as a storage room, office, or hobby room, while the adjoining wooden gazebo provides shelter and shade for dining, entertaining, or relaxing. Crafted from slow-grown spruce, these environmentally friendly cabins feature interlocking logs and durable materials designed to withstand changing weather conditions.

What’s included in the package?

The price includes free delivery to mainland UK and a quality five-year warranty. Each package also includes the timber garden building you select, the floor (unless otherwise stated on the product page), doors, windows as illustrated, all fixing materials, locks, handles, and keys.

What’s not included in the package?

Extras such as roofing felt or shingles, terraces, shutters, extensions, and internal wall cladding kits are not included in the base price but can be purchased separately. These optional upgrades allow you to customize your cabin to meet your specific needs and aesthetic preferences. If you’re unsure about what’s included or which upgrades might suit your project, feel free to contact us for clarification or advice—we’re here to help ensure you make the right choice.

Can I return the product if I change my mind?

Yes, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal for any garden room or cabin purchased from Palmako’s online shop. You can return the goods within 14 days of delivery and receive a refund, excluding transport expenses.

Please note that only unused goods in their original packaging are eligible for return. We accept returns of opened goods only in cases where manufacturing defects are detected and cannot be resolved by mutual agreement.

If you have any concerns or questions about returns or need help with the process, don’t hesitate to contact our customer service team for assistance.

Can gazebo log cabins be used all year round?

Yes, with the right setup. While Palmako cabins are not insulated as standard, they are made from slow-grown Nordic spruce that offers natural protection. For year-round comfort, customers often add roof insulation or floor insulation during construction. Choosing thicker log walls (44mm or 70mm) and double glazing on windows and doors will further improve comfort and durability.

The open gazebo provides shade and shelter, while the enclosed internal space is ideal for use as a summer house or even for storing garden furniture in winter. With proper treatment, these garden structures will perform well in all seasons.

Is professional installation of a garden building worth it?

Palmako log cabins are designed to be easily assembled by individuals with basic DIY skills. However, constructing a new log cabin does require a firm, level base, basic tools, and at least two people. Full instructions are included, and our team is available to provide guidance during the process.

For those who prefer, Palmako offers construction services at competitive prices, which can be included as an optional extra during your purchase.

Do I need planning permission for a log cabin gazebo?

Planning requirements vary across the UK, and rules differ in England, Wales, Scotland, and Northern Ireland. Factors such as overall height, proximity to boundaries, and whether your property is in a protected area all affect whether permission is needed.

Some Palmako cabins are under 2.5m in height, which can simplify the process, but we always recommend checking with your local planning authority before purchase. For more details, see our planning permission guide.

Are the cabins treated?

The foundation beams are pressure-treated as standard. The rest of the cabin is supplied untreated unless you choose factory dip treatment. If untreated, you should apply a suitable wood preservative shortly after installation to protect against weather, damp, and insects.

What roof coverings are available?

All cabins are supplied with roof boards, but coverings are optional extras. Choices include:

  • Roofing felt - cost-effective and easy to install
  • Felt shingles - attractive, tile-like finish
  • EPDM rubber roofing - durable and watertight, recommended for flat roofs

Can I customise my log cabin gazebo?

Yes, Palmako offers a bespoke design service. Selected models can be tailored with different wall thicknesses, glazing types, or finishes. Whether you have a small space and need a compact log cabin or a larger garden building, why not speak to our team to discuss your requirements.

What kind of base do I need?

Your cabin must be built on a firm, level base to ensure stability and long life. Popular options include a concrete slab, paving slabs, or a timber deck frame. We recommend preparing the base before delivery.

How many people are needed for assembly?

At least two people are recommended for assembly. Each kit arrives flat-packed with all necessary fixings and detailed instructions. Palmako cabins are designed for competent DIYers, but professional installation can be arranged if you prefer a hassle-free option.

What tools will I need to build my cabin?

Only basic DIY tools are required, including a hammer, handsaw, cordless drill, spirit level, and measuring tape. All fixings are included. For guidance, you can find step-by-step videos and articles in our Knowledge Hub.
