Garden Rooms with Gazebo

Palmako’s garden rooms with a gazebo combine an enclosed indoor space with an open, covered outdoor area, offering a flexible solution for modern garden living. Designed to support both sheltered relaxation and open-air use, these structures are well-suited to entertaining, hobbies, or creating a calm retreat within your garden.

Each model is constructed from slow-grown Nordic spruce, a durable and stable timber chosen for its strength and consistent quality. Many designs feature large glazed areas or sliding doors to maximise natural light within the enclosed room, while the gazebo section provides a shaded space that can be enjoyed in a variety of weather conditions. Selected models offer optional double-glazed doors or windows for improved comfort when used more regularly.

The range includes different sizes, layouts and roof styles, from compact pavilions to larger multi-zone garden rooms. All buildings are supplied as flat-pack kits with pre-cut components and detailed assembly instructions, with professional installation available separately.

Most models include free mainland UK delivery and are backed by Palmako’s 5-year structural component warranty (subject to correct installation and treatment).

Testimonials

Just a brief note to say how delighted I am with the Melanie (9.6 sqm) Log Cabin I bought from you. Your service and price were superb and Greg and Craig came at 9am on Tuesday and worked right through until 8pm to build it.

They did an excellent job and did not stop all day. Greg advised that I should paint the door and windows a different colour as otherwise the green painted log cabin would be ‘lost’ in the garden and I took their advice. I used two different colours of Butinox No. 3 and the result is absolutely incredible. Many thanks once again. One hugely satisfied customer.

The delivery lorry arrived about eleven o’clock and the driver duly unloaded two very large packages. At eleven thirty my neighbour and I began to investigate these well protected packages.

Just after three o’clock that afternoon, two self satisfied men were enjoying a well deserved beverage whilst admiring the 4.5 by 3.5 meter cabin which was now completed up to roof purling level.

The construction of the cabin was so logical and easy, just like assembling ‘Lego blocks’ only heavier.

We absolutely love our Summer House – we can seat 16 people inside it, it stays warm long after the sun has gone down and it is particularly special as we run a B&B, so we can escape into it, invite all our friends to parties in it and now, we have installed electricity so can have lighting, heat and music as and when needed. It also provides a really big area to store all our garden furniture during the winter months.

We would absolutely recommend you to anyone considering buying one. Many thanks.

Frequently Asked Questions:

What materials are used in Palmako's garden rooms?

Palmako's garden buildings with gazebos are primarily constructed from high-quality Nordic spruce, a timber renowned for its strength, durability, and aesthetic appeal. Nordic spruce, sourced from colder climates, features a tight grain structure that enhances its resistance to wear and warping, ensuring the longevity of the structures.

In addition to the timber, Palmako utilizes high-quality fittings and hardware for assembly. Some models offer options like double-glazed windows and durable roofing materials, such as felt or shingles, providing excellent insulation and protection against the elements.

Can I enclose the gazebo portion if needed?

Yes, some gazebo designs can be modified with additional DIY panels, screens, or custom solutions to partially or fully enclose the space, offering greater flexibility and protection from wind or insects. This way, you can make the most of your garden area all year round and protect your garden furniture from the elements.

Is delivery included in the price?

For most of the UK, delivery is free, but there is a £150 surcharge for standard and express deliveries to certain remote postcodes, including AB, GY, HS, IM, IV, JE, KW, PL, TR, TQ, and ZE.

Delivery Timeframes:

- Standard Delivery: Due to high demand, most delivery times are currently 6 weeks.
- Express Delivery: Items in the express delivery range can be delivered within 2-3 weeks (subject to confirmation upon order).

Can Palmako install the garden room with a gazebo for me?

Yes, Palmako can arrange construction services in most areas for any garden building. On many product pages, construction is listed as an optional service at anextra cost that can be added to your purchase. This allows you to have your garden room with a gazebo professionally built by experienced crews, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free setup.

Can a garden room with a gazebo be used year-round?

The enclosed garden room section can be used throughout the year, particularly on models with glazing and when appropriate insulation and heating are added by the customer. Adding roof insulation is commonly recommended to help reduce heat loss and improve comfort when the space is used more regularly. The gazebo area is designed as a covered outdoor space, ideal for seasonal use and sheltered enjoyment rather than a full year-round enclosure.

Are garden rooms with gazebos supplied as flat-pack kits?

Yes. Palmako garden rooms with gazebos are supplied as flat-pack kits with pre-cut components, fixings and detailed instructions. This allows for efficient delivery and accurate on-site assembly.

Can I choose single or double glazing for garden rooms with gazebos?

Some models are available with a choice of single or double-glazed doors and windows. Glazing options vary by design and internal area, so it’s best to check the specifications on individual product pages for available upgrades.

How much maintenance does a garden room with a gazebo require?

As with all timber garden buildings, regular maintenance is required. Palmako garden rooms are made from quality materials, but should be protected with a suitable wood preservative or paint after installation. Periodic re-treatment helps maintain appearance and protect the structure from weathering.

Is a garden room cheaper than a house extension in the UK?

In most cases, yes. A garden room is generally more cost-effective than a traditional house extension, offering affordable prices without the need for extensive groundwork, structural alterations to the main property or long construction times. Garden rooms with gazebos also provide flexible outdoor use with less disruption.

Do I need planning permission for a garden room extension in the UK?

Garden rooms are usually considered outbuildings, not extensions. In many cases, they do not require planning permission if they meet size, height and placement rules under permitted development rights. However, rules vary depending on location, property type and whether you live in a conservation area. We recommend checking your local planning authority before purchasing.

What is the lifespan of a garden room?

With correct installation, treatment and ongoing maintenance, a high-quality timber garden room can last several decades. Palmako garden rooms are built from Nordic spruce and designed for long-term outdoor use, whether used as a leisure space or garden office, but regular timber treatment is essential to maintain durability, appearance and a smooth finish over time.

Do I need foundations for a garden room?

Yes. A solid, level foundation is required for a garden room with a gazebo. Common options include concrete slabs, paving slabs or screw foundations. The most important requirement is that the base is stable and level to ensure correct assembly and long-term performance, and that you follow instructions provided with the product.

Is a garden room with a gazebo better than a summer house or garden shed?

There isn’t a single “better” option - it really depends on how you want to use your garden space. A summer house is often chosen as a simple place to relax or enjoy seasonal use, while a garden shed is typically selected for practical storage and everyday garden needs.

A garden room with a gazebo appeals to homeowners looking for more flexibility. It provides extra space that can be used in different ways throughout the year, combining an enclosed room with a covered outdoor area. This design allows you to enjoy your garden in changing weather, create a defined area for outdoor seating, and make better use of the garden without committing to a permanent extension.

For many, it’s the balance between indoor comfort and outdoor living that makes a garden room with a gazebo such a popular choice.

What optional extras are available for garden rooms with gazebos?

Palmako offers an extensive range of optional extras on selected models, allowing you to tailor the building to your needs. Internal and external floor kits are available as a recommended extra, along with roof coverings such as roof shingles or premium self-adhesive EPDM, which help protect the structure from the elements.

Some designs also offer add-ons like an extended roof or side canopy, creating additional sheltered space and ensuring there is enough room for different uses. Many models feature large windows or glazed doors as part of the core design to maximise natural light.

Optional extras are model-specific and designed to suit each structure, so not all upgrades are available across the entire range. The optional extras, specifications and pricing are clearly listed on individual product pages for your convenience.
