Testimonials

Just a brief note to say how delighted I am with the Melanie (9.6 sqm) Log Cabin I bought from you. Your service and price were superb and Greg and Craig came at 9am on Tuesday and worked right through until 8pm to build it.

They did an excellent job and did not stop all day. Greg advised that I should paint the door and windows a different colour as otherwise the green painted log cabin would be ‘lost’ in the garden and I took their advice. I used two different colours of Butinox No. 3 and the result is absolutely incredible. Many thanks once again. One hugely satisfied customer.

Sandy

The delivery lorry arrived about eleven o’clock and the driver duly unloaded two very large packages. At eleven thirty my neighbour and I began to investigate these well protected packages.

Just after three o’clock that afternoon, two self satisfied men were enjoying a well deserved beverage whilst admiring the 4.5 by 3.5 meter cabin which was now completed up to roof purling level.

The construction of the cabin was so logical and easy, just like assembling ‘Lego blocks’ only heavier.

We absolutely love our Summer House – we can seat 16 people inside it, it stays warm long after the sun has gone down and it is particularly special as we run a B&B, so we can escape into it, invite all our friends to parties in it and now, we have installed electricity so can have lighting, heat and music as and when needed. It also provides a really big area to store all our garden furniture during the winter months.

We would absolutely recommend you to anyone considering buying one. Many thanks.

Choosing the right wooden kiosk for your needs

Palmako's wooden kiosks are designed for a wide range of commercial and residential uses. The right model depends less on the building itself and more on how you'll be using it. Here's a quick guide to help you narrow down your options.

For cafés, retail units and ticket booths

For businesses operating from a permanent location, choosing the right kiosk is about balancing customer service with practical workspace. A compact 8m² kiosk provides enough room for one or two people to work comfortably while accommodating shelving, equipment, and stock, making it ideal for coffee kiosks, ticket booths, farm shops, and small retail outlets.

If security and enclosed storage are your priority, a model with one serving hatch maximises internal wall space. For businesses expecting higher footfall, two or three serving hatches allow customers to be served from multiple sides, helping improve customer flow during busy periods while maintaining a professional and welcoming appearance.

For larger commercial operations

Businesses serving higher customer volumes need more than just additional floor space. A 16.6m² double kiosk provides enough workspace for approximately three to four staff members, depending on the equipment, counters, and storage required. The larger footprint comfortably accommodates coffee machines, refrigeration, preparation areas, shelving, and stock, making day-to-day operations more efficient.

Models with up to four serving hatches also allow customers to be served from multiple sides of the kiosk simultaneously, helping to improve customer flow and reduce queues during busy periods. This makes them an excellent choice for cafés, food vendors, visitor attractions, farm shops, and event venues.

For markets and temporary events

If you regularly attend markets, festivals, trade shows, or seasonal events, a portable timber stall is the most practical option. Unlike a permanent kiosk, Palmako's Marian stall is designed to be assembled and dismantled in around 20 minutes, making it easy to transport and reuse at different locations.

Its fold-out design provides a professional timber display with integrated serving hatches, allowing you to create an attractive retail or catering space without the time and effort of constructing a permanent building.

For home entertaining and outdoor hospitality

If you're looking to create a dedicated outdoor entertaining space, Palmako's garden bars and outdoor serving stations offer a practical alternative to makeshift BBQ tables or temporary bars.

Compact models are ideal for smaller gardens and patios, while larger designs provide space to prepare food, serve drinks, and securely store bar essentials between gatherings.

Features such as serving hatches, lockable wooden doors, enclosed storage, and durable Nordic spruce construction create a permanent outdoor entertaining area that's as practical as it is attractive, making it easy to host family barbecues, summer parties, and celebrations throughout the year.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can a wooden kiosk be used for?

Wooden kiosks are suitable for a wide range of commercial and residential applications. They can be used as coffee kiosks, retail units, ticket booths, farm shops, market stalls, visitor reception points, garden bars, and outdoor serving stations.

Palmako's range includes compact and double wooden kiosks, portable timber stalls, and outdoor bars, making it easy to find the ideal solution for different businesses, events, and home entertaining.

Does Palmako offer a portable wooden kiosk?

Yes. Palmako offers the Marian Portable Timber Stall, a reusable wooden kiosk designed specifically for markets, festivals, trade shows, and seasonal events.

Unlike a permanent kiosk, the Marian features a fold-out design that can be assembled and dismantled in around 20 minutes, making it easy to transport between locations. It provides a professional timber display with integrated serving hatches, making it an excellent choice for businesses that regularly attend temporary events.

Are Palmako wooden kiosks supplied treated or untreated?

Palmako wooden kiosks are supplied in untreated natural wood as standard, allowing you to choose the finish that best suits your project. Most models are also available with optional dip-treated or factory-painted finishes for additional protection.

If you choose untreated natural wood, Palmako recommends applying a suitable wood preservative as soon as possible after installation. Regular maintenance helps protect the timber against moisture, weathering, insects, and fungal decay.

Do I need a concrete base for a wooden kiosk?

No. A poured concrete base is not the only suitable foundation for a Palmako wooden kiosk. The most important requirement is a firm, level, and stable foundation that provides long-term support for the building.

Depending on your site conditions, suitable options include a concrete foundation, paving slabs, strip foundations, screw foundations, or concrete blocks. If your kiosk is being installed on soft ground, it's especially important to choose a foundation that prevents movement over time.

Are detailed assembly instructions included?

Yes. Every Palmako wooden kiosk is supplied with detailed assembly instructions and technical specifications to guide you through the construction process.

Each kit includes precision-manufactured timber components, allowing them to fit together accurately during assembly. Palmako recommends reading the assembly instructions before starting construction and ensuring your foundation has been fully prepared. For those with basic DIY skills, the clear guidance and precision-cut components help make installation as straightforward as possible.

Does Palmako offer an installation service?

Yes. If you would prefer not to assemble your kiosk yourself, Palmako offers a professional installation service at an additional cost.

Are Palmako wooden kiosks suitable for UK weather conditions?

Yes. Palmako wooden kiosks are manufactured from slow-grown Nordic spruce, a durable timber well suited to the UK's changeable weather conditions.

When properly installed on a suitable foundation and regularly maintained, the timber provides excellent long-term performance in normal weather conditions.

Applying the recommended wood treatment helps protect the surface against moisture penetration, while routine maintenance keeps your kiosk looking its best and ready for year-round use.

Do I need planning permission for a wooden kiosk?

Planning permission depends on the size, location, and intended use of your wooden kiosk. While some smaller timber buildings may fall within permitted development rights, commercial kiosks and buildings installed in certain locations may require approval from your local planning authority.

Before ordering your kiosk, we recommend checking the planning requirements that apply to your property and intended use. Product pages include key dimensions and technical specifications to help you determine whether planning permission may be required.

Do Palmako wooden kiosks come with a warranty?

Yes. All Palmako wooden kiosks are backed by a five-year warranty, giving you added confidence in the quality and durability of your purchase.

The warranty covers manufacturing defects, including faulty materials and missing components. Like all timber buildings, regular maintenance and the correct installation are essential to ensure your kiosk performs as intended and remains protected for years to come.

Does Palmako offer free delivery on wooden kiosks?

Yes. Palmako offers free delivery to mainland UK on its wooden kiosk range, helping make your purchase as convenient as possible.

Delivery times vary depending on the product and finish selected, and you can also request a convenient delivery time by scheduling your delivery in advance during the ordering process.

Can I customise the serving hatch layout?

Palmako offers kiosks with a variety of serving hatch configurations, allowing you to choose a layout that best suits your business or intended use.

Models are available with one, two, three, or four serving hatches, making it easy to balance customer access with internal workspace and storage.

Can I customise my wooden kiosk with optional extras?

Yes. Many Palmako wooden kiosks can be customised with a range of optional extras, allowing you to tailor the building to your intended use and local weather conditions.

Depending on the model you choose, available upgrades may include internal floor kits, different roof covering options, and timber treatments.

Some kiosks also offer a choice of roofing materials, including premium self-adhesive EPDM, helping to protect the roof surface from the elements while complementing the overall appearance of the building.

As optional extras vary between models, we recommend checking the individual product page for the technical specifications and customisation options before placing your order.

What other timber buildings does Palmako offer?

In addition to wooden kiosks, Palmako manufactures a wide range of premium timber buildings for both residential and commercial use. The collection includes wooden garages, garden rooms, log cabins, summer houses, sheds, gazebos, pavilions, and saunas, all crafted from slow-grown Nordic spruce and designed for long-lasting performance.
