Testimonials

Just a brief note to say how delighted I am with the Melanie (9.6 sqm) Log Cabin I bought from you. Your service and price were superb and Greg and Craig came at 9am on Tuesday and worked right through until 8pm to build it.

They did an excellent job and did not stop all day. Greg advised that I should paint the door and windows a different colour as otherwise the green painted log cabin would be ‘lost’ in the garden and I took their advice. I used two different colours of Butinox No. 3 and the result is absolutely incredible. Many thanks once again. One hugely satisfied customer.

The delivery lorry arrived about eleven o’clock and the driver duly unloaded two very large packages. At eleven thirty my neighbour and I began to investigate these well protected packages.

Just after three o’clock that afternoon, two self satisfied men were enjoying a well deserved beverage whilst admiring the 4.5 by 3.5 meter cabin which was now completed up to roof purling level.

The construction of the cabin was so logical and easy, just like assembling ‘Lego blocks’ only heavier.

We absolutely love our Summer House – we can seat 16 people inside it, it stays warm long after the sun has gone down and it is particularly special as we run a B&B, so we can escape into it, invite all our friends to parties in it and now, we have installed electricity so can have lighting, heat and music as and when needed. It also provides a really big area to store all our garden furniture during the winter months.

We would absolutely recommend you to anyone considering buying one. Many thanks.

FAQ

What can I use a large log cabin for?

If you're dreaming of a holiday home or more room to relax and entertain, a large log cabin is the perfect way to add extra space, without the hassle of a full renovation. It’s one of those garden buildings that instantly transforms your outdoor space into something truly special.

Want a stylish spot for storing garden tools? Done. Need a creative hobby room, a peaceful garden office, a fun-filled games area, or even a welcoming guest room for overnight visitors? Your cabin can be all that and more.

Blending beautifully into your garden setting, a large log cabin is more than just storage space, it’s a cosy, functional extension of your home that’s ready for whatever you need, whenever you need it.

What wall thickness should I choose for a large log cabin?

Thinner walls can be suitable for occasional seasonal use, while thicker logs made from slow-grown spruce provide greater strength, insulation and stability.

Can large log cabins be used all year round?

Yes, many large log cabins can be enjoyed throughout the year. Choosing features such as thicker wall logs, double-glazed windows, and appropriate floor and roof insulation can improve comfort and energy efficiency.

What type of base does a large log cabin need?

A solid, level foundation is essential for the performance and longevity of your log cabin. Preparing the base properly helps protect your investment and ensures your new additional space remains stable for years to come.

Depending on the model and available garden space, suitable bases can include concrete slabs, paving slabs or other properly prepared foundations. Always refer to the product guidance for the recommended base requirements before installation.

Do I need planning permission for a log cabin?

Most garden log cabins fall under permitted development, meaning you won’t usually need planning permission, as long as the structure is under 2.5m high (if near a boundary), not used as a home, and doesn’t take up more than 50% of your garden.

That said, if you're installing a large log cabin, especially one over 20m², it might require planning permission, particularly if it's used as a living space or placed close to a boundary. This is often the case with a corner log cabin, which might raise issues with height, access, or visibility.

Planning requirements can vary depending on where you live in the UK, so it’s always best to check with your local planning authority before starting your project.

What's included in your log cabin kits?

Each kit comes with all the basic materials you need to build your cabin, including easy-to-follow assembly instructions. Every product page has all the details about what’s included in that specific kit, along with a downloadable PDF installation manual that lists every single item.

For most cabins, you’ll also have the option to choose extras like roof coverings and treatments (these come at an additional cost). You’ll find a list of recommended add-ons on each product page to help you make the best choice for your build.

Since each log cabin style is a little different, we always recommend checking the product details for the full breakdown.

Is professional installation required?

A lot of our customers successfully enjoy building their garden cabin themselves using the easy step-by-step instructions included in the kit. However, for larger models, you may prefer a professional installation to ensure everything is built properly and meets all the necessary standards.

We offer an installation service on most of our product pages if you'd prefer to leave the heavy lifting to the pros. You can easily add this service to your purchase for an extra cost.

What is the delivery timeframe?

Due to high demand, most of our deliveries take around 6 weeks from the date you place your order. However, if you choose a cabin from our Express Delivery range, it may arrive within 2–3 weeks, subject to confirmation at the time of order.

Once your purchase is confirmed, our team will get in touch with an estimated delivery schedule so you’ll know exactly what to expect and when to prepare for your new garden cabin.

Do your log cabins come with double-glazed windows?

We have a wide range of garden buildings to choose from, so it all depends on the model you purchase. Some of our large log cabins are available with double-glazed windows as standard, or you can purchase a bespoke cabin and have them put in.

They’re a great addition for improving insulation, reducing noise, and making your cabin more energy-efficient, especially if you plan to use it as a cosy space all year round.
