Testimonials

Just a brief note to say how delighted I am with the Melanie (9.6 sqm) Log Cabin I bought from you. Your service and price were superb and Greg and Craig came at 9am on Tuesday and worked right through until 8pm to build it.

They did an excellent job and did not stop all day. Greg advised that I should paint the door and windows a different colour as otherwise the green painted log cabin would be ‘lost’ in the garden and I took their advice. I used two different colours of Butinox No. 3 and the result is absolutely incredible. Many thanks once again. One hugely satisfied customer.

The delivery lorry arrived about eleven o’clock and the driver duly unloaded two very large packages. At eleven thirty my neighbour and I began to investigate these well protected packages.

Just after three o’clock that afternoon, two self satisfied men were enjoying a well deserved beverage whilst admiring the 4.5 by 3.5 meter cabin which was now completed up to roof purling level.

The construction of the cabin was so logical and easy, just like assembling ‘Lego blocks’ only heavier.

We absolutely love our Summer House – we can seat 16 people inside it, it stays warm long after the sun has gone down and it is particularly special as we run a B&B, so we can escape into it, invite all our friends to parties in it and now, we have installed electricity so can have lighting, heat and music as and when needed. It also provides a really big area to store all our garden furniture during the winter months.

We would absolutely recommend you to anyone considering buying one. Many thanks.

Frequently Asked Questions: Glass Garden Rooms

Are the glass panels double-glazed?

Most of these outdoor rooms feature single-glazed glass windows and sliding doors, but double-glazed options are also available. Double glazing enhances insulation, making the space more energy-efficient and comfortable for year-round use. Feel free to contact us for more details!

Do glass rooms need foundations?

Yes, but while pouring a concrete foundation is an option, it is not mandatory. Lightweight construction blocks, concrete slabs, or posts can also be used effectively. These base materials should be partly dug into the ground and carefully leveled to prevent the structure from sinking.

Recommended Foundation Options:
- Screw Foundation
- Strip or Spot (Pile) Foundation
- Foundation from Concrete or Pavement Slabs
- Slab Foundation (Cast Concrete Bed)

What is the warranty period, and what does it cover?

Palmako provides a 5-year warranty on wooden and glass buildings. This warranty guarantees the replacement of any component parts should they be found to be defective within this period. However, it does not cover accidental or weather damage once the building is constructed.

What should I do upon receiving my delivery?

Inspect the delivery for completeness against the list of parts provided. This inspection must be done within 14 days of delivery. Store the product and packaging in a dry place, protected from weather conditions, and avoid direct contact with the ground. We recommend treating the wooden parts with a wood preservative immediately and maintaining them regularly for long-lasting durability.

Do you need planning permission to put a glass room in your garden?

Whether planning permission is required for Palmako’s glass garden rooms depends on various factors, including the size, height, and location of the structure, as well as the specific regulations in your area. In many cases, garden rooms can be built under Permitted Development Rights, but additional restrictions may apply, particularly if your property is on designated land, such as a conservation area or near a listed building.

We recommend consulting your Local Planning Authority to confirm the requirements for your specific project.

When choosing between a full and partial glass garden room, what should I consider?

When deciding between a full or partial glass garden room, consider the following:

-Natural Light: Full glass maximizes light and garden views, while partial glass offers a cozier feel with more privacy.

-Privacy: Full glass may need blinds or frosted panels, whereas partial glass provides natural privacy with solid walls.

-Thermal Comfort: Full glass may require extra insulation and shading, while partial glass is naturally better insulated.

-Aesthetic Appeal: Full glass offers a sleek, modern look, while partial glass combines traditional charm with functionality.

-Usage: Full glass is perfect for bright, open spaces like sunrooms or offices, while partial glass suits activities needing privacy, such as studios or gyms.

Choose based on your needs, garden style, and how you’ll use the outdoor living space!
